HOME-MADE VANILLA LIP SCRUB

Lips tend to suffer a lot during winter time. The cold winds, rain and heating dry them up and make them crack, peel and look awful.

Even though I know I should leave them alone, I find myself picking at the dead skin (such an attractive image, I know) and they end up bleeding and very sore.

I am trying to not use commercial beauty products when at all possible and make my own with natural ingredients. I always thought that you would need very specialized ingredients and that it would end up been expensive and a long process. As you know, I have been converted. After making my own lavender body scrub and lip balm, I know that you can make your own amazing natural products with things that you already have in your house or that are affordable and easy to buy.

To make the VANILLA LIP SCRUB you will need:
– 1.5 tsp Light golden sugar (or normal caster sugar)
– 1 tsp Vegetable oil (or any other vegetable with no flavor)
– 1/2 tsp Honey
– 3 drops Vanilla extract

(1) Put the caster sugar in a bowl and (2) mix in the vegetable oil until you have a thick paste. (3) Add the honey and (4) the vanilla extract and keep mixing.

Apply to your lips and scrub gently. The caster sugar will gently scrub your lips while the oil and honey will moisturize them.
Wipe it off with a tissue and apply your home-made lip balm.
If your lips are very dry, apply the scrub morning and evening and make sure that you keep your lips moist with your lip balm during the day.

No more bleeding and sore lips for me, only delicious vanilla lips.

Have a great day,
