FEBRUARY PLANT AND A MACRAME HANGER

I have tried to be so good not to buy plants during this cold and dark month that I nearly forgot that I was allowed to buy one in February, so yesterday I rushed to the shop and I got myself this pretty thing.
My February plant
I seem to be running out of viable space for the plants, at least downstairs, but I wouldn’t let that minor detail stop me. I decided to go vertically!!Making a macrame planter - Organising Chaos Blog
Macrame hangers are all the range lately and my new plant is an ideal candidate for trying out my hand with knots. As the plant is small I decided to go for a simple design. So this is it:

1. Measure your cord and cut 4 x 2 meters and fold in half so you now have 8 cords, loop the cord and tie a knot

2. Divide the cords into 4 groups of 2. The space between the top knot and the next one should be determined by you but the main considerations are: your type of plant (if it grows upwards or if it will hang) and how low hanging you want your plant to be. Once you have decided where you want your plant to be, take the left cord from each group and tie a double knot to the one of the right.

3. Measure 3 cms down and repeat the process. You should end up with a close circle now. If your pot is very deep, you can repeat this process,

4. Combine all 8 cords and tie a knot 3 cm from the previous knots. Cut all the cords at the same length at the bottom.

I am loving my hanging planter. I am thinking of making a double one. Maybe even a triple? Adding beads or/and tape? The possibilities are endless! Yay!!!
